This place was pretty creepy looking

By the way, for those, like me, who didn't know - a frond is a branch from a palm tree.

Hilo Bay, we were on Coconut Island - where only the aristocracy were permitted to walk back in the day.

In trying to boost its reputation, the leaders of Hilo planted a Banyan Tree (as in the picture) for every significant visitor - Heber J. Grant was one such visitor.

The view from the garbage chute area - looking up to the mountain. I was surprised how green this part of the island was.

This is where the scientists stay when they're not higher up on the mountain working with the telescopes. It was where I was able to recover, with a dose of oxygen and rocky road.

Heading up the mountain. I had really bad altitude sickness at this point, my face did not reflect how I was feeling inside!

This place seemed like something out of Lord of the Rings!

Hawaii

The view. You could constantly hear the waves here. I had never had so many vivid dreams in my life while staying here, we found out that the noise of the waves could have been the cause of that.

This was an old cinema which, after having been renovated, shows old school films. We saw 'It's a Wonderful Life' on Christmas Eve there.

The owner of this house in San Francisco apparently puts up these decorations each year, it was like something out a Disney film.
